Hajera Fatima

I am Hajera Fatima, a current MSc Bioinformatics student. I come from a BSc. background (Genetics, Microbiology, Chemistry) and my final year dissertation focused on Bioinformatics. I have also participated in various events and projects that have helped me gain insight into the scientific field - the most interesting being a project titled ‘Programming E. Coli to shrink tumours’. We created 3D models and posters to explain to the general public the methodology behind this experiment. I have experience with children under 12 at Kidzee Playschool, where I organised activities for students and learned different methods of capturing their attention and interest and catering to them. In addition, i have tutored almost all of my cousins, specifically in Biology.

I have relevant experience, academic history, and most importantly, the potential to ignite a love for Science. From my experience, I have learnt how to keep a child's attention by trying various methods - such as being more audio-visual or incorporating gaming. I also understand the pressure students may feel and I am willing to help them navigate through that.
