I endeavour to organise information and impart it to others in a non-aggressive manner by showing empathy and patience to students. I adapt to various teaching methods which allows the flexibility to change the way to communicate with each student individually enabling learning to take place. I am motivated by the willingness to help others to achieve their goals and to understand protocols relevant to the working environment. As a previous college lecturer and private tutor I have a wealth of experience working with and teaching groups of any size and stage of maturity having taught teenagers to over 60’s throughout my teaching and mentoring career. In my previous role as a Learning Support Assistant and currently as a tutor with the Community Education Team, I am equipped to assist students of all abilities; especially those on the autism and dyslexic spectrum.
One of my natural attributes is planning and organisation to enable a logical path to be followed - shown within the teaching resources that have been planned for the qualifications in my teaching career. This ability has enabled me to impart information to SEND students using all types of methods such as picture building, mind maps, listing and simplistic explanations. After a discussion with each student an individualistic plan for learning can be established.
