Bringing enthusiasm, creativity and a strong dedication to making learning, engaging and fun. Making learning exciting is very important, grabbing one’s attention using these methods makes a child’s mind full of curiosity. Some formats I use is by using Presentations, Quizzes, animated videos , interactive games, songs & rhymes storytelling and visual flash cards to help one’s understanding more better with a use of imagination. When it comes to online lessons for children between the ages of 4 -13, it’s important to use formats that are engaging and interactive such as live video lessons where I can interact with my students in real time. Recorded video lessons, this can allow them to access the contents at their own pace. Interactive slideshows with colourful visuals & animations to help engage new concepts to students in the learning process. Virtual whiteboards and shared documents, students can participate in problem solving and work on activities together. Although the sessions would be online, i want our lessons to be fun and eventful, depending on the topic, we may do some projects where the children can express their creativity, these hand on experiments will help the children learn from home and further boost their skill for creativity. There will be sessions of ‘show and tell’ where I will talk about my own experiences and relate to some things & demonstrate ideas. For example if the subject is about animals, I will showcase my pet animals. How I look after them and so on. For home projects If a student enjoys cooking we could create a cooking project together & I would show pictures and videos of my own cooking I’ve done, show them how I made a certain dish, this will encourage the child to try it at home and experiment it themselves with help from an adult. Sharing experiences will inspire curiosity and encourage children to express their own interests and make learning more fun and exciting!
