I always find out where the student is and what their goals are. I have leant an immense amount of music and have the knowledge to teach this, but I must always make sure it is what the student wants. I often write out skill sheets, as well as using books and I am always careful to understand how my student thinks, we all perceive things a little differently! Because i also compose, I have a very good knowledge of how the drumming fits into a song and having played a wide variety of music and I can help you reach your goals to be the best musician you can be. I am still learning myself.
My qualifications are grade 8 in drum kit, snare drum and music theory.
Grade 6 on bass guitar and grade 4 on piano.
City and guilds certificate in learning delivery and 23 years teaching privately and in schools. Use Sibelius for composing and theory, but as mentioned above, i can also had write music still!.
