Learning a language can be difficult and even more difficult when only reading textbooks. I like keep my classes as interactive as possible since this is the best way to learn a language. I also like to use videos with subtitles and make the student try to understand them with and without the subtitles since that's another good way to stimulate the brain when learning a new language. Grammar in Portuguese can be tricky so it's also good to have exercises to develop their grammar and vocabulary. for those who have a base in Portuguese, I like to keep most of the class only speaking in Portuguese so the student ear gets used to hear the different sounds and is also able to reply in Portuguese to develop their pronunciation. I am both Portuguese and Brazilian and can teach with any accent. Portuguese from Portugal usually is more difficult to understand and pronounce than Portuguese from Brazil. Therefore, I like to leave to the students option to choose which of the accent they want to start with or choose for their classes. I have been in contact with kids my entire life due to a big family and always being around them. I like to understand what are the difficulty of each student in the language and try to have different approaches for different difficulties so that all students can achieve their goals with the language even if it is only for learning the basis or to become fluent on it.
