I believe that effective communication skills are crucial in creating a good student-teacher rapport, especially when there's a language barrier. Incorporating body language and gestures is useful in interacting with non-English-speaking students and facilitates understanding. Listening is a quality that enables teachers to understand students' needs, progress and challenges. Patience is also essential when teaching a new language. I understand some students learn at a faster rate than others. It's important to provide adequate support and assist students in learning at their own pace. I try to involve my students in the learning process by asking questions during class, assigning group work and conducting class presentations, which are beneficial in creating a student-centred environment. Administering random and continuous assessments is also useful in monitoring progress and enhancing academic performance. For students who learn slowly, dividing complex topics into simpler ones enhances understanding. I believe establishing a cordial environment for all students is important. Interacting with international students has helped me learn about various ethnic backgrounds and how to meet students' different cultural and social needs. Incorporating new teaching methods, such as flashcards and images, helped them understand concepts easily. Encouraging other students to embrace new customs was crucial in building a trusting relationship and promoting cultural diversity.
