I am a qualified IB Educator in the STEM fields: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. I have a Masters Degree in Innovative Technologies in Learning. I teach at an IB World School in Islamabad, Pakistan

My job requires me to work with students and teachers on a number of transferable skills. These include Critical Thinking Skills, Design Thinking & Problem Solving, Communication Skills, Self-Management Skills, and Research Skills. Together all these skills are known as Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills. Such is the nature of these skills that they can be of value to a wide range of audiences.

My teaching style is as follows:
1. I make a baseline assessment of the student in the first few sessions.
2. Based on the results, I set goals.
3. Both the assessments and goals are inspired and back tracked from all strands of the course objectives.
4. I emphasize on command terms’ understanding and their proper use.
5. Lastly, and most importantly, my teaching philosophy is based on “necessitated learning”, wherein a student learns due to a difference between their current level of knowledge to the one required to solve a challenging and unfamiliar problem. This knowledge difference necessitates learning, and the learners create new mental schemas and learn new skills to grapple with such problems.

My strengths are:
1. Provision of high quality online learning experience
2. Documentation of the learning activities and student progress
3. Three years experience in teaching STEM subjects in IB MYP.
4. Trained in implicit and explicit teaching of Approaches to Learning.

Sir Gul has a unique way of teaching which is highly effective compared to the other teachers I have come across so far. His idea is to promote the idea of instant feedback in teaching which is something we lack in our education system leading to ineffective education system. I would highly recommend learning from him, he is one of a kind.
