As an English teacher, I pride myself on having a knack for making learning fun. My students can expect engaging lessons filled with creativity and interactive activities. I like to create a positive and supportive classroom environment where everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves. I tailor my teaching methods to meet the needs of each student, ensuring they grasp the concepts effectively. I like to think that my enthusiasm for literature and writing can be infectious, inspiring my students to explore and appreciate the beauty of language. I strongly encourage critical thinking and foster a love for reading by introducing my students to a wide range of captivating texts. My lessons are not just about grammar and vocabulary, but also about developing communication skills. I try to provide many opportunities for speaking and listening practice, helping students become confident English speakers. I also incorporate technology and multimedia resources to make the lessons engaging and relevant to their lives. My students should expect constructive feedback and guidance to help them improve their language skills. I also provide additional resources and support outside of class for students who need extra help. Overall, my approach to teaching is ‘quality over quantity’, meaning I prefer to spend one lesson perfecting one thing rather than cram lots of things into one lesson which can often result in students falling behind. I always want my students to feel confident in what they’re learning and not feel pressured or rushed. A calm, focussed learning environment is very important.
