To become a teacher, you really need to have a brave heart and soul in dealing with students. You need to be flexible and committed too, to your work. You need to exercise your patience and learn to control yourself in some ching requires versatility. And for that, one has to be equipped with the different platforms in teaching. I am comfortable using zoom as a platform for online learning. Most of the time, I use PowerPoint presentation in presenting my lessons in science to keep my students actively involved in class discussion. I also use Canva app to highlight some salient parts of my lesson. As a classroom teacher for more than 13yrs now, u have observed that my students learned best through audio visual lesson and when I let them manipulate or experiment something on their own. As a teacher, I am only a facilitator of learning and I let my students explore the different areas in the field of science. I used the art of questioning to my students so that they would develop critical thinking skills and become a good 21st century learners. I also engaged them in collaborative learning because I believe that through working in a group, they would develop sense of leadership, good rapport with their classmates and self confidence. Exploring the science world maybe tough and it really needs a lot of research, patience and skills.. but with the right attitude towards teaching, nothing could be tougher in teaching the subject ??
