I am a recent graduate, earning my Bachelor's degree in Psychology, now pursing a Master’s degree in Clinical Health Psychology and Wellbeing. My experience in the field is catered towards clinical psychology, having taken courses that focus specifically on mental health disorders. As an undergraduate, I was a research assistant for a lab that focused on researching different methods in helping treat mental health disorders. Conducting an individual research project has given me experience in the research field and allowed me to expand on my communication and organizational skills. While this area is my focus, I have experience in developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, physiological psychology, neuroscience and behavior, as well as some experience in the sociological realm. In my many years of learning psychology, I have found that visual presentations and representations of concepts work best when understanding a topic at hand. This type of teaching better enhances memory retention in order to help recall information better, when needed. This would be done through the use of limited words on presentations and a greater use of illustrations, graphs, and videos to properly demonstrate a concept. Along with presentations, providing useful bull-it points that highlight a topic and can then be written down by the student provide an opportunity for students to retreat back to their notes when needed. However, knowing that every student has individual preferences of learning, I am open to adjusting any areas of teaching in order to fill specific needs. The formats I use are based off of personal experience I had, when learning the material and what has led to me excelling in the field.
