I always want students to enjoy the process of learning and strive to reach their goals, no matter how big or small they may be. As a young musician myself, studying the flute at music conservatoire, I am amongst some of the worlds top players, and so I have the privilege of passing their knowledge to others who want to develop their skills. Learning from the most experienced and accomplished players I understand the techniques needed to become an established and confident player, and whilst learning these techniques myself, there would never be a situation where the student should feel intimidated or embarrassed about getting things wrong or taking time to understand instructions. I am passionate about my subject and will encourage students in lessons by having a positive and professional learning environment. I understand the process of learning can be difficult and students will find certain aspects of technical development tricky, but as a private tutor I will always do my best in giving clear explanations, guiding students through more challenging elements of learning. The first lesson is a chance for myself to understand the students current ability, experience and aspirations. After this, I will be able to create lesson plans, consisting of exercises and advise to help students improve. I am here to help but, I do expect students to practice. Hard work is important when learning a new skill, however I don’t expect instant improvement or results, as long as students try their best and enjoy learning, that’s the most important thing.
