Hi, I am Gordon. I am a Graduate of Cell and Molecular biology and gain my degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and I have also finished my MRes degree at UCL. I am currently a Doctoral student studying Clinical Neuroscience at the University Of Oxford working on the Disease model of Parkinson. I have a great affinity for Neuroscience and Biology and am also passionate to share my knowledge in Biology.
The MRes program and current doctoral program have also afforded me the opportunity to communicate ideas clearly and accurately. Members of our research group all work on very different projects and, as we specialize in our own field, it is easy to overlook the fact that our work could be difficult to understand. In our weekly meetings, I have the opportunity to improve my communication skills. These experiences led me to develop a repertoire of strategies to explain abstract and unfamiliar concepts and I believe this will be very useful in teaching as well. I have experience in tutoring on different tutoring websites, such as tutor house, and helped students with unfamiliar topics or concepts. I am also working as a graduate coach and helping students to plan their studies, and extracurricular activities and improve their CV.
I understand the difficulties of studying biology and am dedicated to guiding students to achieve better in the field of Biology. None least, I am hoping to promote the importance of Biology and help students to get into their dream subject and university !
