Whoever I am teaching, I like to make the lesson interesting by dividing it into several parts, engaging you to do something different in each section.

For example, I might begin with some conversation on a topic which interests you, the student. We would then move on to using a learning resource - this could be a paragraph, short story, poem, newspaper article, photograph, picture, song or an object. Whatever is chosen, I use to encourage further spoken English or as a starting point for some written English. We will review the work you have done and I will go over the main learning points so far - this could be new words (vocabulary), use of grammar, or how to structure your sentences and paragraphs in written English.

Before the end of the lesson, depending upon who you are, we may play a learning game, or I may give you a task to do before the next lesson - for example, finding out about a topic, learning new vocabulary or a piece of written work.

You will find that I give you activities to do so that I am not simply talking and telling you information. Sometimes we share tasks, such as reading or writing roleplay. The changes in activity help with concentration and maintaining your interest. My hope is that students find my lessons both fun and interesting.

I have taught many students of different ages and abilities and have tutored in English for over ten years.
