I am passionate about languages. I find teaching enjoyable and find that adapting my style to meet the needs of my students is effective. Because of this, I have been teaching in some form since I was 16; having private 1:1 lessons with students aged between 5 and 25.

I am passionate about languages. I find teaching enjoyable and find that adapting my style to meet the needs of my students is effective. Because of this, I have been teaching in some form since I was 16; having private 1:1 lessons with students aged between 5 and 25.
During my volunteer year in South America I was tutoring a class of 25 students from different backgrounds as well as age-groups. I had the opportunity to tutor Spanish and German for 3-4 hours per day and finish the day with homework support for the kids, especially the ones with learning difficulties and special needs.
My first approach is to identify if the student wants to learn the language to get ready for the exam, a qualification or want to apply the learnt knowledge into the daily life for instance while traveling. As the upcoming units and lessons would differ from each other. After that a small talk to see how confident the student is in that language and where we need to improve on. Followed by some grammar as its essential ( can be explained in several different ways if the student is struggling) and a listening and the final exercise mostly selected by the student ( as its their lesson and highly important that it can be enjoyed). Usually finishing each lesson with a question round if everything is clear and what should be prepared for the next class. Here, the focus should be that every students gets encouraged and supported trough their journey to learn a new language as it can be hard at times.
The lesson consists of a full hour of teaching, where we will be working together on reading, speaking and listening. We will identify the base knowledge and figure a pathway for motivational lessons and push you to fully comprehend what is being taught.
I am very understanding and it is a no-judgement zone. We will work together on improving the weaker areas and you will not feel rushed.
