I am currently a student at the University of Oxford, where I study Classics. I was involved in OUIS (Oxford University Italian Society).
I took Italian Literature (HL) for the IB (International Baccalaureate), achieving top marks. In my time in high school, I was also involved in the Italian Club - we provided free tutoring for GSCEs students.
As a tutor, I always try to meet the needs of my students - this means that I always aim to tailor lessons based experience, interests as well as other factors ( for instance, providing an accommodating format for those with ADHD, dyslexia, etc). I seek to make teaching fan enjoyable experience, even a fun one! I am more than happy to lend in essay correction, standardised language tests or general grammar rules. For younger students, I generally like to come up with engaging activities and fun little exercises.
The format I rely on is entirely dependant on the goals of each students: different instruments and aids serve different purposes. For those doing GSCEs or A Levels, for instance, I would opt for assistance in grammar revision, tutoring for the speaking exam as well as correction of past papers. For those seeking to learn Italian from start, a more practical approach might be preferable - starting from the basis, general grammar and useful vocabulary. As per literature lessons, I am happy to focus on a given historical period, or simply provide a more general introduction to the key authors that shaped Italian consciousness and identity.
