I always personalize the classes according to my student's profile and purposes. However, most of them are usually very practical and conversational, since my students look for an improvement on their communicative skills. Therefore, we use a book as a grammar basis, and a variety of digital tools from internet for more practice.
At the beginning of the course we'll have a brief diagnostic class, which is more like a conversation with the student. This will help me to identify the areas of the language we'll focus on. According to the diagnostic result I'll design a program for the student and will let him/her know the topics we'll need to work on, as well as the strategies that I recommend them for extra practice to keep a really good progress rhythm.
The classes are normaly 90% conversational and 10% of grammartical or vocabulary review. This way the student has a lot of time to work on their conversational skills with a native speaker where, through different conversations about their personal or professional interests, will increase their vocabulary meaningfully in different contexts and will gain confidence to produce the language.
I've worked with many types of students and personalities, please don't worry about finding the correct program or school for you to learn Spanish, just let me get to know your purpose with the language, interests and learning style and I'll create a perfect study program and develop didactic strategies that will fit your exact goals and needs.
