My Italian lessons are divided an 3 sections.
The first one is dedicated to understand the students point/level of the subject, how keen is the student to write notes down, checking if the student prefer technical subjects or humanistic subjects.
Understand his previous experience related to the subject.
The second section is divided in four simple blocks: writing words,, spelling words, writing phrases and spelling phrases.
The final part is divided in a summary and a conclusion, in order to keep a link for the next lesson.

It will be a mix of talking, writing and probably even laughing.
