Hello! My name is Georgios and I am a full time tutor of Mathematics with more than 15 years of experience. I hold BSc in Mathematics and MSc in Pure Mathematics. I am passionate about Maths and since I was a pupil myself I knew I wanted to be a teacher of Mathematics. I starting tutoring while I was still studying Maths in 2008 and enjoyed it greatly! I love Maths and love helping others appreciate it too. Wanting to further my studies, along with my tutoring, I acquired my MSc in Pure Mathematics in 2011. I obtained my qualified teacher status (QTS) in 2016 from Liverpool John Moores University. Having seen both worlds of a classroom and one-to-one teaching, I chose to carry on with the latter, as I believe that one-to-one sessions could greatly benefit pupils that want to achieve a top grade for themselves, and I enjoy helping them get there. Since the pandemic in 2020 I work exclusively online. I always start by getting to know the learner, identifying possible gaps in their Mathematical knowledge. Then, I tailor each session to meet their individual needs. It is important to me to support my pupils in building their confidence in Mathematics and make the sessions enjoyable for them. According to my experience the more they understand and enjoy Maths they more likely they are to succeed. I guide my pupils to think creatively and independently and encourage them to think mathematically. I check their understanding by continuous tailored questioning. I offer carefully selected questions that slowly build the pupil's understanding and secure the perseverance needed to achieve top outcomes. In every session I share exam questions and tips and teach my pupils various techniques to help them tackle even the most difficult questions. I always give homework and tailored notes to strengthen my pupils' skills and secure their understanding of each topic. It makes me happy helping my pupils unlock their full potential and watch them take pride in themselves and the results that follow.
