Georgina Saralis

I have been a teacher of English and drama in secondary comprehensives, in a Sixth-Form College, in mainstream special education and in independent alternative provisions for young people aged seven to seventeen, as well as a lecturer in teacher education at a university, and I have developed a broad range of pedagogical and academic skills for teaching Levels 1-7.

I have taught many students in Years 10-12, through to revising and preparing for heir GCSE and A-Level exams. I have also supported post graduate students with essays, dissertations and theses.

Through my interest in film and media, I continue to diversify my skillset so I may deliver exciting, relevant, and challenging lessons in a vibrant learning environment, harnessing advances in ICT, underpinned by a strong belief that creativity is integral to teaching and learning.

My lessons are designed to be engaging and interactive. The format includes a blend of live virtual classes and self-paced activities, allowing flexibility and catering to different learning speeds. Using interactive tools and multimedia elements, I strive to maintain your interest and create an immersive learning environment.

The core focus of my lessons is on skill development in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Where appropriate, I incorporate project-based learning to foster creativity and critical thinking, which not only reinforces language skills but also makes learning fun and relevant. I include literature from various cultures to promote inclusivity and global awareness. By exposing students to diverse perspectives, I aim to broaden understanding and appreciation of the world.

With many years of experience in teaching English, I have developed a keen understanding of the needs and challenges faced by students in your group. My goal is to create a supportive, inclusive and stimulating learning environment where you can reach your full potential. Through a combination of traditional and innovative teaching methods, I ensure that my lessons are both educational and enjoyable.
