My experience has taken the form of workshops and facilitating events, from guided events uncovering the potentials of archives and uncovering Hackney History through their collections I was able to inform the mayor and the community of those that came before them. Local and public history lies at the heart of my passion for history. I have a people focus in my work, rather than teaching by relaying off information in the hopes that you remember, we discuss and ask questions, revisiting any topic or section is needed. Learning exists in multitudes and by taking a creative and open approach through discussion, writing, drawing as well as presentations, I believe that everyone can find something they are passionate about and may be surprised how history is always at play in everything you do.
Whether you want to learn about approaches to history and it’s theories, what the subject is/does or major landmark events like the difference between the Stone Ages and Dark Ages, then I would love to meet you and discuss more about what you want to learn and how I’d be able to help.
I work from home and have varying availability that typically follows most evenings Monday-Sunday and some daytime slots during the week. This is subject to change, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions and availabilities that you need.
History is not just the past but also this very moment and the more you learn the more you are able to go forward in this big world and navigate your path through it.
