I have experience as a maths and English tutor where I was able to work with small groups and focus on specific areas for individual children. This ranged from focusing on specific areas of the curriculum that the children were struggling with and really delving into those targets. To being able to work with the younger children and deepen their phonetic learning and handwriting skills.

I have also worked as a primary teacher for 5 years and aim for fun lessons with lots of discussion and the use of resources to embed the learning. I have worked with ages reception to year 6 so I have developed a range of different teaching techniques to support children of all different ages. I have also worked with SEND children so am able to cater sessions to suit all. I have been able to deliver lessons to support and prepare year 6 children for the SATs and 11+ by teaching them exam style questions and how to work through these with the skills and knowledge they already have. I have also worked with reception children and have provided fun and dynamic lessons to help them with their basic mathematic skills and developing their reading through different phonics schemes.

I enjoy working with children and getting to know them and their way of learning in order to be able to plan and deliver specific lessons to suit them personally. I aim to create lessons that will keep children engaged whilst developing the important skills they need.
