I teach any way that a student feels most confident. Any subjects that the student/parent feels that they need tutoring. I have experienced being tutored as I struggled with English. It would be a one on one session unless the student feels more confident with someone else there. By doing this it creates a more comfortable and safe environment that a student may feel that it makes that they are able to learn more successfully. I understand that people may feel embarrassed to need tutoring but I feel that it is important to reassure them that there is no need to feel like that. This would insure that they feel comfortable and more confident with what they are doing. I have dyslexia and autism myself and understand that everyone’s needs are different. If anyone is having any difficulty I would encourage them to tell me and then I would plan how to work with them on this. I understand that some people prefer a more practical lesson and would incorporate that into it or some would prefer to do more theory and logic. This I would understand as well. For the first lesson I would be asking how they prefer to be taught and trying out different ways that I could teach them, following that lesson I would base my lessons on what way they learnt most effectively.
