I am currently a second year medical student at the University of Cambridge - I achieved 5 A*s in Maths and Science at A level and have experience tutoring maths up to Further Maths A level. I use the online format and go at a pace that the student is comfortable with. Sessions are very flexible and can be tailored to suit each students individual needs. I prefer to allow students to attempt questions first before giving hints to encourage them to get the answers on their own and I like to give thorough and detailed explanations regarding the derivation of mathematical principles. I appreciate all students have very different learning styles and am able to cater sessions to suit these learning styles. I also am able to supply resources to students e.g practice questions etc and direct them to use the best textbooks that I used to get me through my A levels. I have first hand experience of how difficult A levels can be, many students taking the maths/science combination at A level are applying to medical school, this is further something I can help with.
At the moment I use teams or Zoom for my sessions, this allows me to use a virtual whiteboard to go through questions with students and show full worked solutions - and furthermore, allows me to better illustrate graphs and diagrams. I am very flexible timing wise currently and prefer to negotiate times with each individual student to suit what works best for them.
