My name is George and I have a passion for languages. Since finishing A-level French in June, alongside English Literature and Government and Politics, I have thrown myself into continuing my studies, with a particular interest for francophone history and classical literature. I also have learnt (to the best of my ability at least) conversational Greek for my travels this Summer, and hope to go on to do a degree in French and Italian this following September in London.
I have tutored internally at school to help lower school students before, and found it incredibly rewarding to watch them improve, especially as French became less of a burden and a class they dreaded and their interest in the subject rocketed. I like to combine cultural studies into the learning of the language and grammar, and although I am especially steered to tutor the AQA GCSE/A-level syllabus, I will always go above and beyond to push my students further, and furthermore research in depth, learn about and teach you about any queries or topics that I am yet to learn about myself. As an aspiring MFL teacher, I find great pleasure going above and beyond to help others and don't hesitate the opportunity to expand my own knowledge too!
In your first free lesson, I would focus on communicating and curating an idea of what's best to teach you and learning a bit about you - what you struggle with the most, whether it may be formation of "le sobjonctif imparfait" or conversational vocabulary and the different structuring of your spoken or written language. I would then spend time outside of the lesson creating and communicating with you about a lesson-by-lesson plan, guided by you and what you want to work on and improve the most, finding resources from the web, my collection of French language expertise workbooks and tutoring guides, or from your exam specification.
There's nothing worse than dreading an hour of tutoring, so I do hope to make fun and engaging lessons that see you improving and enjoying French. I hope to see you soon, and feel free to drop me a message if you have any queries!
