My approach to personal training / personal coaching is one that has undergone many refinements over my time in education and in the fitness industry, which the latter now totals nearly a decade in different capacities. It has been refined with every qualification I attained, it has been refined through learning from others more qualified and experienced than myself, it has been refined through my formal education and sports science background, and it will continue to refine and evolve as more knowledge and experience is gained.
There are constants to my approach, however, which are that it is always client-driven / client-focused, and evidence-based. Being client-focused / client-driven shows the direction that all the training, programming, and education must be pointed in, in order to reach the desired destination. Being evidence-based shows us the best path to plot to get there as efficiently as possible, and get the most out of the journey. Client focus gives the destination, the evidence base shows us how best to get there. The feeling of being lost in the desert of competing claims around health and nutrition is not a pleasant feeling, speaking from experience, and so I aim, with my approach, to completely eliminate that.
As such, the format revolves around much of what in terms of research has been conducted into a topic of interest / importance, and really digging into it to get to the truth. Resources I pull from; whether they be textbooks, research papers, or other sources of information, I always aim to clearly reference as to make it easy for the client / student to read for themselves.
If you want to learn and master the key concepts of training, health, nutrition, and as such look your best, feel your best, and perform your best, all the while striving to be the most learned and never satisfied because there is always more to learn, then Evidence-based Excellence might just be for you.
