I am Dr George Alexandrou with a PhD degree in Civil Engineering and 44 years professional experience .
I give lessons to both undergraduate and postgraduate university students and to young Engineers to help them to become Chartered Engineers and M.I.C.E.
I teach Structural Analysis of Civil Engineering Structures, Reinforced Concrete, Steel Design, Timber Design, Engineering Mathematics (including Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Calculus, Differential Equations, and Complex Analysis), Geotechnics, Hydraulics, and Engineering Management.
My motto is : " I MAKE SUBJECTS EASY FOR THE STUDENT TO UNDERSTAND"
I teach in a way that I make information simple to understand. If you don't understand first time round I can help find other ways to explain. I do bite-sized teaching and I am patient with my students. I am very attentive to the needs of my learners. All my students come back to me after exams and dissertations saying they succeeded and usually get A or B grades minimum.
I teach at my home in the City of London.
However, I also teach online via Skype and Zoom.
A little about me:
My proudest legacy projects are:
1. Southern Water Conveyor Project
2. Nicosia-Limassol Highway Structure
3. South Africa Power Stations
4. South African Railway Embankments
My most interesting hobbies are reading especially historical and political books, travelling having visited several European countries and middle east namely Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Israel. I am also a nature lover, so I took on a project for the site design and construction of water retaining depots in the beautiful Troodos Mountains of Cyprus.
