I spent a few years in the military, and since leaving, I have had the benefit of working for British Telecom, where I spent 15 years as an engineer.
I worked mainly in London, but traveled up an down the country, interacting with people from all walk of life and levels of education.
I am a people person, and have always had a customer facing role. This has sometimes tested me, as I’m sure you will understand, but I have always remained professional and composed and defused any conflict or confrontation I encountered. Which is not always easy when someone is upset, for whatever reason, and I’m the person they decide to vent their frustrations upon.
I’m hoping this new venture I have embarked upon does not have the same challenges, although I’m sure there will be many others, but screaming irate customers will not be one of them!!
