I’m new to tutoring, however most of my experience has come from being the translator when I go to Italy between family members! From Italian to English and vice versa. Especially Neapolitan which is a totally different language those of you who know the dialect.

The dynamic of the lessons I will provide will vary based on the age of the person taking the lesson. For primary/secondary school students a PowerPoint will be used with commonly used phrases so they will be able to familiarise them self with the basics;
“What is the time?”
“Where can I find…”
“Can I please order…”
“Do you know how to get to…”
“How is your day going?”
As well as past, present and future tenses of each word and where it would be appropriate to use certain phrases explaining certain scenarios and immersing them in that scenario to better their understanding of what to say or respond.

For adults, the same dynamic will be implemented but with a more specific approach depending on what they would like to be tutored on. As well as masculine/feminine words and different meanings for each word and how they can be used in different ways to mean different things. For example, say a person wants to learn how to respond to a waiter in a restaurant scenario. We will go through the different answers available as well as getting your point across to the other person.
“What would you like to order sir?”
To which you can reply;
“Can I please see the menu?”
“What is there available?”
“I have nut allergies”
“Do you have any fish based dishes?”
“Could I just order drinks for now?”
“Can you give me a minute I’m still looking”
“Can you come back in 5 minutes”

My aim is to help the individual better their interactions with one another in English, as simple as that.
