I'm passionate about the subjects I teach. I am a big believer that learning is actually fun - yes, really - and that comprehension is key to enjoying a subject. I'm committed to my students truly understanding a subject, not just repeating what they have learned. While English is my main focus, I also have an interest in History, Art and Design. I try to make my lessons as interesting as possible, and play to my students' strengths and interests to help them grasp concepts quickly. Normally I start with a simple introduction so I can gauge where the problem areas are, and to better understand my student's strengths and interests.
I'm a positive person with a creative flair. No two lessons will ever be the same with me - after all, that would be boring! I tackle challenges head on with a smile on my face, and I try to encourage my students to do the same.
Most importantly, I realise we are all human. What comes easily to some, may not apply to others. I encourage mistakes, as I believe they are the best way to learn. I am approachable and friendly, and want to see my students reap the benefits of their efforts. Think of me not just as a tutor, but as a personal cheerleader who will whoop with joy at your success.
