My name is Gary Moir and I am a classically trained guitar tutor and performer I teach all styles including classical, rock, pop, folk, finger picking etc. My lessons are very much tailored to everybody’s specific requirements. I teach from total beginner up to ABRSM grade 8 and above. The age range that I teach is anyone from age 5 upwards. Some people want to learn how to play just for their own pleasure as a hobby and not wanting to go through the pressure of doing grades etc but to play their favourite songs or pieces of music for fun. I also teach pupils how to read music as they go along, which is a very beneficial skill to have, and gives you the ability to play pretty much any piece that you could want.
I also teach the theory of music from total beginner up to ABRSM grade 8 level if required. Some people want to learn in pairs or groups which can also be catered for.
I personally have been teaching for over 35 years now and I am currently working in primary schools as well as privately and on line. I have also performed in many countries around the world. I am fully DBS checked and so there are no concerns there. The ability to play a musical instrument is one of the most personally satisfying things that you can do and can also set younger people on a very positive and enjoyable path with a talent that they will use for their whole lives.
