I have been teaching in Barcelona for about seven years now. Previously I worked at Citibank here in Barcelona. At the moment I teach several senior managers from important Spanish companies such as Indra, Exolum and Deoleo.

For me it is essential to find out what the student wants and expects from the classes before we begin. In my experience students prefer a class that is not too grammar focussed. I base my classes around conversation, this can be about anything that relates to the students work or the world in general. Some learners like classes that help them with specific situations at work such as writing emails, attending meetings or giving presentations. There are, in my experience, students who prefer to not to talk about work at all in our classes, of coure this is no problem for me.

Aswell as conversation we also look through newspaper articles together and occasionally watch short videos.

I honestly believe that the best classes are those where the students and teachers can feel comfortable together and are not necessarily too formally structured
