I am an online teacher, specializing in English for students aged 7 to 12 years. I focus on covering the areas outlined in the National Curriculum but with a difference.

My lessons include PowerPoint presentations and other digital platforms that help to enhance and reinforce learning. Lessons are carefully paced to support confidence and understanding, whether we're working on reading comprehensions, writing skills or grammar.

Lessons are structured, flexible and tailored to the age, needs and goals of each student. I think it is important to understand how a student learns so that I am best placed to provide the right resources and lessons to ensure progress.

I like to start a lesson with a fun activity to get our minds working and then move into the main part of the lesson. This will include work based on grammar, punctuation or spelling followed by a reading comprehension or a writing task.

I also like to incorporate mini book projects into my teaching, which can help students to become aware of a writer's style - a question that always appears in exams. I also believe that helping students to think critically is always a good skill to have. So I like to include this too.

I believe that every student has potential and it's my job to help them see it in themselves. I am patient but I do challenge my students too - because progress feels best when you've worked for it.
