I enjoy tutoring massively as seeing students improve their grades and their essay skills is incredibly rewarding. I have a great grasp of History having achieved a degree in it as well as As in my A-Levels and GCSEs.

I am a very organised person who works well under pressure and is able to adapt to diverse situations. It is because of this that I have found success in my tutoring as I adapt each lesson to the need and learning styles of each student.

Over the past year, I have been tutoring a student who is working towards completing their OCR History GCSE exams. With two lessons a week, we dedicate one lesson to content and one to exam practice. Each content lesson is dedicated to expanding their understanding of a certain module and referring to potential exam questions that may come up. Each lesson has a lesson plan created by myself with a set amount of content as well as a checklist so that we can track the progress of where we are content-wise. Moreover, I like to make revision booklets and PowerPoint slides that my students can then refer back to after a lesson. In regards to the exam practice lesson we usually dedicate the first 10-15 minutes to doing active recall questions so as to solidify content knowledge. When looking at exam practice I like to find out what each student struggles with. For example, with my last student, their main struggle was how to answer source questions so we spent the lesson looking at various source questions and how we would approach them, providing them with example answers, specification requirements and mark scheme answers.

I offer detailed feedback on past paper questions set for homework as well as looking over assessments they did in school.

Overall, each lesson is tailored to each student's needs and struggles as well as to their learning style; with a mix of PowerPoint slides, explanations or visual teaching (such as mindmaps, graphs, and pictures).
