As someone with experience in both teaching siblings and colleagues/classmates, my style of teaching is dynamic and flexible - we can do whatever feels best for you as a learner!
My lesson plans draw from the techniques I learned from working towards my Level 5 diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language, which include vocabulary drilling and structured presentations but also lots of improvisatory real-life scenarios to improve your communication skills. Role-playing conversations is a vital part of achieving fluency in any language you are learning.
Since everyone has different learning styles that work for them as an individual, we can trial various approaches and see which one brings the best results out. Since I’m currently learning two other languages for my degree, I have a wealth of ideas I can draw upon - not only from my assigned textbooks and exercise booklets for Spanish and French but also from my one-on-ones with my University tutors!
Owing to my training for my diploma, I have learned transferable teaching skills that can be applied to both professional and personal language learning. Whether you’re learning English as a side hobby or to improve in the workplace, I’ve got you covered. Additionally, my own experience as a Modern Languages student means I can communicate in other languages if necessary to improve foundational understanding of certain more complex vocabulary and terminologies.
My hours are flexible - if you need to adjust your timings or days by the week, I can make that work.
