I have experience in the field of education such as: 1 year as a learning support assistant/teaching assistant at a secondary school. I am also currently a private tutor in GCSE maths and physics.
Usually I like to ask the student in advance if there are any topics that they would like to focus on. Then I will prepare a lesson that is tailored to the specific topics. I will usually start a new topic by introducing basic concepts and testing the students understanding by asking questions, as well as using diagrams and specific notes for the student to take. Then I will move onto some problems to solve with the student, providing feedback and model solutions. I like to emphasise the importance of practicing past paper questions and looking at model solutions, both of which I will prepare for lessons.
I understand that each student learns differently so I like to change the pace and style of my teaching, depending on the student, in order to keep the student engaged and optimise their learning experience.
