Hi there! I’m Gabriel and I studied German at the University of Oxford. I have four years’ experience teaching and tutoring, both online and in school, so I’ll hopefully be able to answer any questions or fears you might have about German language and culture.
I have been extremely fortunate to have translated (no pun intended!) my love of languages and the cultures behind them into my previous experiences. I have tutored German in-person and online over the last four years, as well as having taught German in a London secondary school, and having taught English at two secondary schools in Austria. I hope that I can use this enthusiasm and experience to help improve your German skills.
I feel it’s very important that you have a degree of input as to how the sessions are structured. Not only does everyone have a different approach to how they learn, but also certain topics & areas may be stronger or weaker than others. Taking this into account, I aim to initially get to know you and your ability, and from there I’ll plan the lessons around your needs, preparing relevant (and hopefully interesting!) material before each session based around those.
We will also go over the fundamentals along the way, as well as – if need be – looking at anything you need extra help on. Whether it is vocabulary, grammar exercises, exam prep or other methods of practice (this includes if you want to bring any of your past papers or difficult questions with you) I’m happy to fit this into our sessions.
I look forward to hopefully hearing from you :)
