I am an experienced Geography teacher, having taught for 5 years in the state sector following a one-year SCITT programme. I have a first class degree in Geography from the University of Leeds, a Masters with Distinction from Durham University and a PGCE from UCL. I am experienced teaching Geography from Y7 to A Level and Economics A Level and was the Geography KS4 coordinator during my last 3 years in teaching. In my first year as head of GCSE Geography, the school attained their best ever GCSE Geography results. I have designed and led intervention programmes for students that are below their expected level of progress and these have been hugely impactful.
I care deeply about the students I teach and their outcomes, working hard to ensure they achieve their very best. Purposeful feedback, formative and summative assessment, modelling and passion for my subject ensure that students make excellent progress. I make sure all my lessons are engaging and focused on the areas you need to improve. I can help with exam technique, essay writing, key skills and content. I cover KS3, KS4 (Edexcel A) and can help with some A Level Geography (Edexcel A). I'll use a variety of different techniques to help convey more complex topics, such as games, story telling and visuals. I believe that the most effective learning happens when the learner is engaged and receiving positive feedback to boost confidence.
I left teaching in May to become self-employed and would love to tutor alongside this. Get in touch today and we can ensure you achieve your very best!
