Hello, my name is Freya.

I am educated to a degree level with a Ba(Hons) in Theatre: Writing, Directing and Performance from the University of York. It was a highly theoretical degree with 80% being essay based. This ranged from analysis of Shakespearean literature, Greek plays, contemporary and alternative writing styles. This also included engaging with historical and cultural contexts that influence the work; having the ability to understand wider context is a key part of the GCSE literature curriculum and a very useful skill. I also have strong creative writing skills, which is a key part of English Language curriculums across multiple key stages.

I have experience teaching at a lower primary level at a special education school, so am familiar and comfortable with children and young people with complex needs. This also means I can teach your children phonics, reading and writing, all key skills they will need in education and beyond.

I understand everyone learns differently and want you to enjoy learning. With this in mind, I am open and flexible about my teaching style and the resources you might want to engage with. I am willing and able to create tailored resources for you to practice with, as well as familiar with skills teachers want children to develop. So whether you want something custom to you, help with homework, or need some tailored assistance to help you grasp the last bit of that tricky concept, I cannot wait to work with you.

I work online to provide maximum flexibility for you and I. My sessions are an hour and your first session will be free! All I ask is that you come to this session with a good idea of what you want to work on, an example of some current work and some key goals. In the first session we will establish what your goals are and the steps we need to take to achieve them. From then on we will consistently touch base on these goals and how we are working together to ensure you are getting the most from our time.
