Hello, I am a young and friendly tutor, and a recent university graduate. I will help you achieve your full potential!

Being dyslexic I understand the importance of adjusting teaching and learning styles to fit each student. Everyone is different and everyone learns differently. I believe one-on-one tutoring is your opportunity to get teaching personalised to your learning style... unlike what you might get at school!
So... I will adapt my teaching style to you. If you prefer rigorously going through exam questions I will do that with you, if you prefer visual drawings, sketches and diagrams, then I can do that with you too. Perhaps you're a more auditory learner and we can have in-depth discussions about certain topics.

This is how I always start... with a discussion. I like to find out exactly how much you know about a topic and probe a little bit deeper to see if you really understand it. I find this exercise not only highlights areas to improve but also gives you a better understanding of the topic in question and gives you the ability to link it to other areas (something essential for high grades)!

If you like this as a mechanism of learning then then we will continue investigating topics just through conversation, testing you as you go. We can then pair this with more visual learning. Diverting from the broad conversation to focus on a specific aspect. We might use diagrams, short YouTube videos or textbook-based mediums.

Moving on it's always good to put what we have learnt into practice. If you're confident with the topic then I'll let you dive straight into some exam questions. And then, in true biology style, we'll direct your answer, helping you understand exactly what the exam board is looking for. If you're still getting to grips with a topic, then we'll work through the question together, understand exactly what it's asking for and then writing an ideal answer together.
