I like to use the songs you like in to keep you motivated and interested. I do my best to explain in a way that you will understand without it being too intense!
Through community music work, I've learned that sense of achievement, and connecting over music are very important. Learning guitar is a great way to do this. You being happy with your learning will make me happy as a tutor, win win!
Your lesson might look like this:
- A chat about your goal, what you know and what you want to know about the guitar.
- Having a go at a song
- Discussing sound and tone, helping you get the sound you are going for.
- Explaining and giving you the right tools to learn it
- Something to take away for next time, a new chord or a new bit of knowledge on the instrument!
- Helpful resources. Videos, links and tab.
- Building your confidence and hopefully getting you ready to make your own music and perform! (no pressure)
Most of all, making sure this is a positive experience for you! Doing whatever makes you feel good! If your goal is simply to make a noise that you are happy with then that's what we'll work on!
