The format of the lessons is largely dependent on the student, what level they’re at, what they require, and what they prefer. Feedback from the students is very important and ensures they have a good learning experience.
In general there is a mix of speaking, reading, writing and listening exercises. These will vary in difficulty depending on the level of the student.
Speaking mainly focusses on improving the student’s pronunciation of Portuguese words, improving their accent to ultimately allow them to be understood by a native speaker.
Reading consists of reading words, which then progresses into reading sentences, and finally reading excerpts of texts and books.
Writing will ensure the student can spell Portuguese words correctly and use proper grammar, including different verb tenses, etc.
Finally, listening will help the student understand what a native speaker is saying, starting by being able to pick out the topics that are being talked about, to a level where they can understand most of what is being said.
Lessons can also be adapted for school curriculums, in which case we will go over exam questions and looking at certain topics in more detail.
