I started tutoring students younger than me when I still was a student myself at University, it was my first work experience and I still am in love with it, I think it's always stimulating for both parts. I like to get to know a student to find the best way to help them, based on age and goals and difficulties as well! I think it's fundamental to find the best way to make learning a new language something interesting and funny and to get to know the culture as well as the language itself to develop an interest which is 360° and not just mechanical learning of grammar. I can use my knowledge of the language but also of the literature and the culture and the country itself to make lessons more interesting. I am used to teach both in person and online as I kept tutoring students even during lockdown in 2020, and even if it was difficult at first together with my students we found the right way to make the best out of online lessons as well - and we succeded! The lessons usually last for an hour but this depends on the needs of each student: if a person prefers to do 2 hours in a row instead of divide the lessons it's good for me and we can organize the time based on the necessities and the ability to stay focused; if a person prefers to do more lessons but just for an hour it's fine for me. The key for success for me is getting to know each other and being able to work together to make the best out of every lesson, this is tutoring and not school so there's no such thing as getting bored listening to me explaining something!
