Hello I'm Frances, great that you've stumbled across my profile!

I thoroughly enjoy learning and have been tutoring students for 4 years from KS2 to A-level and undergraduate Biology and Chemistry and Mathematics. Also aiding students gain prestigious scholarships at 11+ and 13+ level. My philosophy in teaching is ensuring there is true understanding of subject concepts that can then be built upon to understand more complex concepts. This is then paired with practice and repetition of exam questions to ensure excellent grades can be achieved. I have experience successfully tutoring kids with various learning difficulties also.

I usually split lessons as follows

1. Introduction/chance to go over homework questions
2. Introduction to new topic(s)
3. Practice/exam questions to consolidate
4. Homework questions set to solidify understanding

I like to keep lessons engaging using whiteboard teaching, games and puzzles!

I am passionate about being a science and maths tutor because I believe these subjects are essential for understanding and engaging with the world. I love the challenge of helping students grasp complex concepts and develop problem-solving skills that are invaluable in everyday life. My goal is to inspire curiosity and foster a love for learning, making these subjects accessible and enjoyable. I have seen firsthand how personalised guidance can transform a student's confidence and academic performance. By creating a supportive and interactive learning environment, I aim to empower students to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals. Ultimately, I want to equip them with the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly changing world.
