Finn Weddle

Welcome!

I am Finn, father of two and studying my second degree. Having previously studied French and Arabic and traveled extensively, I am now working towards a bachelors in Biotechnology which is a field that encompasses biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology, organic chemistry, and lots more besides! I am equally as passionate about the history and philosophy of science as I am about emerging and cutting edge technologies, many of which are being developed and piloted right here in Scotland and the rest of the UK. In my spare time I am a swimmer, a drummer and a linguaphile.

In my online lessons I will have prepared a variety of formats for you to engage with. A typical lesson will minimally include a presentation, a discussion and some pen & paper activities. Learning is an active process, so effective engagement is essential; this means it is my job to find out what makes you tick and eager to keep learning more. As a highly energised person I tend to plan things at high speed and high intensity; however, my lessons are YOUR time which means we can keep going over materials as many times as you like until you're comfortable moving on.

As I believe your time with me is valuable, I prefer to set clear goals with my student early on to ensure that we can easily track progression. Whether you're here to excel or just to get by, I will make sure the materials I provide are ability- and goal-appropriate. Common goals may be: "achieving an A in an exam", "catching up on missed school due to xyz", or "spending more time on a tricky topic".

I tend to only set one small task between lessons, such as a quiz or minor research project, but if you believe you would benefit from more then I will always work to stretch you further.

I work exclusively online for the timebeing due to demands on my time.
