I am passionate about teaching my native language and its culture, so my lessons will reference local food, festivals and traditions from all over Spain.

I prepare and tailor sessions to meet the needs of my learners, constantly pushing their boundaries and testing them to allow for continuous feedback. I divide my lessons into short units based around four areas, so that we never spend too long on one particular area but build several areas from week to week. I will also always ask for my students´feedback to ensure they are receiving the best possible teaching.

I believe that excellent lessons are based on a strong relationship between the student and the teacher and with my enthusiasm, sense of humour and strong desire for improvement, we will build a positive, collaborative relationship that motivates us both! My lessons always contain some grammar sections as I believe this gives a strong foundation to underpin the learning. My lessons are rigorous and fun.

Fluent in Galician, Spanish and English and with a good command of Portuguese, I understand the challenges of learning other languages. My lessons focus on the students’ use of spoken Spanish, especially pronunciation and I will speak in Spanish (at a suitable speed) as much as possible to give instructions and ask questions. I am told that my accent is clear and strong for learning. Last year, I took an ELE international qualification, certified by Miguel de Cervantes European University, which gave me even more strategies to teach my native language.
