For more than 40 years I have been involved in Earth sciences, studying various phenomena that constitute threats, risks and generate disasters. I have extensive experience in assessing damage from hydrometeorological phenomena in Central America and the Caribbean. I have worked as a teacher at several universities in Cuba and Central America. I have received various International Training Courses sponsored by the United Nations and member organizations that contributed to obtain my degree as Doctor in Sciences. Taught postgraduate courses in several countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. Linked to the Regional Risk Management Concertation of Central America and its network of National Roundtables, it has applied the methodology of pre-disaster studies and developed situational diagnoses for risk management purposes for the countries of Central America and the Caribbean. Discussed studies results at different levels, including related government ministries. Experience in evaluating impacts associated with intense hydro meteorological events linked to Global Climate Change. Outstanding work with several civil society organizations such as the Cuban Society of Geology and the College of Engineers of Cuba. Member of several curricular doctoral. He is a member of the Global Network for Disaster Reduction, GNDR.
