My classes focus on using English functionally in a communicative context; bringing material to life with dynamic activities, role play, games etc., together with a range of conversational approaches to key material, error correction and extensive pronunciation practice as and when required. For me, English knowledge is nothing without the confidence and need to put it into practice, and these situations I create in the classroom. The number one desire I've heard from students over the years is a need to practice speaking confidence and gain fluency in speech: exactly what I put front and centre in my classes. My lessons are fun, effective and I'm a very patient and supportive teacher!
Each student is unique, and so I utilise a wide range of support materials which I share freely and personalise with each student depending on their preferences, learning styles and previous experiences. If you prefer a more traditional approach, I have a hand-picked and extensive package of exercises, texts and audio/video resources to draw upon, together with my many years of in-class experience with a huge range of activities for each occasion. Outside the classroom, I've worked translating, editing and proofreading documents, and have years of experience working to fulfil academic briefs and high level business needs for students in areas such as banking, mining, insurance, utilities and agribusiness, helping students improve in presentation and negotiation skills, creating reports and powerpoints and preparing for all-important meetings and interviews.
