Before starting my geography and politics degree at the University of Glasgow, I studied economics, sociology and geography at A level, achieving A*AA respectively. This experience, paired with my long-time passion for geography, allows me to give students a broader understanding of the subject, as my lessons draw upon content from other areas of study which is likely not included in their geography lessons. For example, if I was to cover the topic of globalisation with a student, my experience from politics, sociology and economics allows me to provide the student with a variety of case studies and figures which deepen their understanding of the topic and takes them beyond what the specification teaches. If a student wants to achieve the highest grades, this wider understanding of topic areas is exactly what exam boards look for.
However I’m aware that not all students just want tutoring for achieving the highest possible grades - some may simply need me to clear up a particularly hard topic which they struggle with, while some may need me to cover how to properly structure an essay question or get through the exam before time runs out (something which haunted me throughout school!). Therefore, my lessons will be tailored to the exact needs of the student.

Also, as someone who is patient, friendly and spent half a year helping out year 6s in an afterschool maths class, I really feel as though I can get through to students. Being of a similar age and likely sharing common interests (largely football and basketball) with students, they will engage with my teaching and listen more closely than they would with a some grumpy teacher they find boring (no offence teachers!).

Please email me at if you’re interested, and I look forward to hearing from you!
