About me

My lessons are based around interactive PowerPoint presentations. There's a mixture of me talking, discussions, quizzes, activities and videos.

For 1-2-1 lessons, the teaching and learning style can be tailored to the learner's preference(s), e.g. visual, auditory, kinaesthetic. For group sessions, there will always be a mixture of teaching and learning styles so there's something for everyone....

For group sessions, there will always be a mixture of teaching and learning styles so there's something for everyone. The teaching environment will always be inclusive.

When teaching, I draw on my own extensive business experience to provide real life examples and case studies. This helps to illustrate the topic in hand and bring it to life for the learner. Practical activities are also based around scenarios the learner may come across in real life, such as dealing with negativity on social media or liaising with journalist to get a feature published.

Lesson types include Power Hours (normally 1-2-1), webinars (normally 1 hour) and half day workshops. Learners can book a series of session if they want to go more in-depth, for example, 6 half day workshops on various aspects of digital marketing.

The topics I can teach are very wide-ranging, but mostly connected to copy and content writing, digital marketing, PR and communications. I also offer sessions around general business principles, such as getting started as a freelancer or dealing with stakeholders.

As well as my professional qualifications, I hold a Level 3 award in Education and Training. I've work both with training providers to teach apprenticeships and short courses, and also work with Nottingham Trent University and the Builders Merchants Federation to teach corporate clients.
