I am a mechanical engineer who loves teaching. I am very keen on helping students get through a lesson and break it down into small steps for them.

I have experience tutoring kids with various attainment levels and age groups. I tutor variety of subjects primarily due to my experience as an engineer. I have a hold over various subject areas. My personal preference however remains to teach maths and science mostly. I have tutored for more then 2 years, out of which 1 year and 8 months was tutoring for the National Tutoring Programme with White Rose Maths.

My strategies primarily involve game way of teaching. I like to incorporate mathematical concepts within small game tasks. The game rules give an idea of how the problem works and students can independently solve the question with little to no help. For a more sophisticated topic, I prefer to use a ping pong method where I break down a problem into smaller steps with the students followed by them repeating the same process for a completely different problem. This method has seen to be working fairly well amongst all age groups irrespective of the topic or subject being taught.

My lesson is usually divided into three parts, an introductory warm up session which includes a few discussion questions, followed by the actual lesson where I use the ping pong method of learning and finally winding up the lesson with a subject specific game to reinforce those concepts back into the children's' minds.
